The studio and its name carry a lot of sentimental value for owner Jessamy Buckingham. The word roots pays tribute to her father’s former tree planting company - Roots Reforestation.

As a young girl, they discussed names for a future salon and this one was a favourite of her fathers. The family business name now lives on through Jessamy and Urban Roots Hair Studio.

The earthy vibe of the studio has also come from a place of Jessamy’s upbringing, her roots. Her vision was to create a space that lifted your stress off your shoulders - a place where people can relax as if they were in nature with nothing but space around them.

High ceilings, greenery, warm tones , and natural textures come together to create a fresh, peaceful, boho environment.
